Suits' Prequel Spinoff Can Finally Happen, 4 Years After It Was Dropped By USA

Suits' Netflix premiere is attracting new fans, making a spinoff more likely four years after its finale. Netflix added the first eight seasons (the ninth is unique to Peacock) in June 2023, and two months later, it tops streaming charts. Prequels may be planned while Suits dominates the game.

Suits' success led USA Network to schedule nine seasons from June 2011 until September 2019. Markle portrayed Rachel Zane, Gabe Macht Pat Adams, Harvey Specter Mike Ross, Rick Hoffman Louis Litt, Sarah Rafferty Gina Torres, Donna Paulsen Jessica Pearson. Even after Markle's triumph, Aaron Korsh planned a Zane prequel.

Because most of Hollywood is on strike in summer 2023, a Suits prequel spinoff is nearly hard to commission. Aaron Korsh wants to return to Suits after the writers and actors strikes end. 

The network was offered a Robert Zane prequel series by the Suits creator. Though his bosses rejected him, Suits' 2023 popularity made everything possible. A Robert Zane prequel may be commissioned to air once the strikes end.

After Netflix acquired Suits, rumors about a remake have grown. The gang may not be able to reunite for a tenth season. Given her relationships to Mike, Harvey, and Donna, Rachel's absence would be odd, and Meghan Markle would likely deny an invitation back. 

A prequel series about Rachel's father, Robert Zane, would be multifaceted. Original cast members wouldn't have to return. The season 9 conclusion gave every Suits character a great sendoff, so it makes more sense to travel back in time and explore new territory.
