Round Steak in the Crock Pot Recipe

Crock pots tenderize steaks in rich mushroom and onion sauce in this Slow Cooker Round Steak.

INGREDIENT

– 1.5-2 pounds round steak – 1 package onion soup mix – 1 large yellow onion, sliced – 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced – 2 cups low sodium beef broth – 3 Tablespoons cornstarch – Salt and pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTION

Preheat the slow cooker while preparing the other items. Add half the onions and mushrooms to the slow cooker, then the steaks. Turn the steaks over and coat both sides with onion soup.

Step 1

Place remaining onions and mushrooms on top and add beef broth. Cover and low-cook 8 hours. Drain 1/4 cup crock pot liquid. Make a cornstarch slurry.

Step 2

Return slurry to slow cooker, raise heat to high, and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes until fluids thicken, stirring regularly. Salt & pepper to taste.
