Quick & Easy Mushroom Bacon Recipe

Smoky, chewy, salty vegan and vegetarian bacon is made by stirring 5 ingredients in a skillet. For vegan breakfast, add to soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, or tofu scramble.

For Fried Mushroom Bacon (the quicker method): Heat a large skillet or non-stick pan on medium-high. Add mushrooms and marinade to a hot pan.

Step 1

Tip: If your pan is small, work in batches because mushrooms cook best in a single layer on the bottom. Before flipping, fry 5–10 minutes until golden on one side.

Step 2

Instead of stirring, let the mushrooms rest to brown. It may get smoky, so use your hood fan. Enjoy after removing from pan!

For Baked Mushroom Bacon: – Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Cover a large baking sheet with parchment.

Pour any remaining marinade over the mushrooms slices in a single layer on the baking sheet. Add to oven and bake 18–25 minutes until dark golden and reduced in size.
