– 3 tablespoons (25 g) poppy seed – ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk, room temperature – 1 ¾ cup (218 g) all-purpose flour – 2 teaspoons baking powder – ½ teaspoon baking soda – ¼ teaspoon salt – 1 tablespoon grated orange zest – 2 large eggs, room temperature – ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar – 6 tablespoons (85 g) unsalted butter, melted – ¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice, (pulp removed)

Preheat oven to 400°F. Use paper liners in a standard muffin pan. Place poppy seeds and milk in a small bowl and let stand for 20 minutes.

Step 1

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and orange zest in a medium bowl. Set aside.
