Orange Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole Recipe


Friends, this Orange French Toast Casserole with Cream Cheese Frosting is the perfect reason to skip Easter ham and cook brunch.


– 1 loaf french bread, sourdough, or other crusty bread – 1/4 cup sugar – 2 teaspoons cinnamon – Zest of 1 orange – 4 egg – 2 cups milk – 2 teaspoons vanilla – Pinch salt – Butter for greasing For the frosting: – 6 ounces cream cheese, softened – 1 teaspoon vanilla – 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar – Juice of 1 orange



Grease an 8x8 deep square pan. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest in a small bowl. Put one layer of bite-sized bread hunks in the pan. Sprinkle 1/3 cinnamon-sugar combination. 


Step 1

Sprinkle 1/3 more cinnamon sugar on another bread layer. Cover with bread and remaining cinnamon sugar. Combine eggs, milk, and vanilla. Pour mixture evenly on bread.


Step 2

Cover and chill overnight or two hours. Remove the dish from the fridge and warm it while the oven heats to 375 degrees. Bake 30–35 minutes until top is golden brown and middle is firm.


Step 3

Smoothly combine cream cheese, vanilla, powder sugar, and orange juice. Pour, spoon, or pipe icing on warm food. Serve now.
