Preheat oven to 350. Grease 2 9-inch bread pans. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, baking soda, and salt.

Add oil, eggs, water, and pumpkin puree. Carefully stir the mixture with a wooden spoon or spatula until no white streaks remain. Add chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
