Breakfast Burgers with Bourbon Bacon Jam Recipe

On a baked English muffin, these are the BEST Breakfast Burgers. They have bacon jam, cheese, and a fried egg.

INGREDIENT

– 4 Tablespoons butter, melted – 4 English muffin – 1 lb. ground beef – 1 teaspoon Kosher salt – ½ teaspoon ground pepper – ½ teaspoon garlic powder – ½ teaspoon brown sugar – Vegetable oil, to coat – 4 slices Muenster cheese – 1 Tablespoon butter or olive oil – 4 egg – 1 cup bacon onion jam – 4 lettuce leave

INSTRUCTION

Prep the burgers: Make four equal beef balls by hand. Palm-press balls into burgers. A full circle is unnecessary. Press your thumb into each burger's center to avoid doming.

Step 1

Season:   Mix salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Burgers should be seasoned both sides.

Step 2

Fry the burgers:  Medium-high heat a cast iron pan with vegetable oil. When oil shimmers, put patties to skillet. Turn after 3 minutes and cook 2-3 more minutes until done (temp chart).

Step 3

Melt last-minute muenster slices on covered or sheet pan burgers. Serve burgers on loose-foil. Meanwhile, bake English muffins. After toasting, butter English muffins.

Step 4

Make the eggs:  Melt butter in another skillet on medium. Add eggs. In 2-3 minutes, cook largely white. Flip and gently turn off heat. Transfer to plate after 30–45 seconds in pan. An over-easy egg has a runny yolk.

Step 5

Continue cooking 2 minutes for firm egg. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Make burgers. Burger patties atop lettuce-bottomed English muffins. Place cooked egg and bacon jam on top. English muffin sandwich. Enjoy!
