Apple Overnight French Toast Casserole Recipe


For a quick and tasty breakfast for the family or friends, try this simple recipe!


– 1 cup brown sugar – 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter – 2 Tablespoons bourbon (optional) – 3 apples (I used Honeycrisp), cored, peeled, and sliced thin – 6-8 thick slices day old bread (I recommend challah or brioche) – 4 egg – 1 cup milk – 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract – 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamo



Melt butter and sugar in a small pan. Combine with whisk. Cook until slightly thickened. Whisk again with bourbon. Cook for 1 minute more


Step 1

Pour the butter mixture into a 9x13 pan. Place sliced apples on top. Place bread slices on apples. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a large basin. Cover bread with mixture.


Step 2

Cover and chill dish overnight. Place casserole in oven in the morning. Preheat to 350. Bake until apple slices soften and bread is golden brown, 45–60 minutes.
